AI Assistants (MCP)
Solidarity Tech's MCP (Model Context Protocol) server lets team members connect AI assistants — including Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor — to their organization. Once connected, an assistant can search people, view event and campaign data, look up scheduled calls, and more, limited to exactly what your dashboard login can already see.
Important: Every action an AI assistant takes is logged under your name. The assistant can only see what your role permits in the dashboard.
Setting up a connection
- Navigate to Settings → AI Assistants in your Solidarity Tech dashboard.
- Copy the MCP Server URL shown on the page.
- In your AI assistant, add Solidarity Tech as a connector or MCP server:
- Claude (Team/Enterprise or desktop): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → paste the URL.
- ChatGPT (Plus/Pro/Business): Settings → Connectors → Advanced → Developer mode → add the URL.
- Cursor: Settings → MCP → Add server → paste the URL.
- Your assistant will open a Solidarity Tech page asking you to approve the connection. Sign in and click Connect.
Your assistant is now connected and can only access what you can see in the dashboard.
What your assistant can do
A connected assistant can:
- Search and view people you have access to, including contact info, timelines, and notes
- View events, scheduled calls, and saved lists in your scope
- View campaign reports you have access to, including blasts, event turnout, phonebanks, canvasses, and team activity
Optional write access
When approving a connection, you can grant your assistant permission to make changes on your behalf. Write access is opt-in per connection and covers:

You can uncheck any of these during the approval step. Every change the assistant makes is logged under your name, exactly as if you had made it in the dashboard.
Managing your connections
On the Settings → AI Assistants page you can see all AI assistants currently connected to your account, including:
- The assistant's name
- Whether it has read-only or read-and-write access
- When it was connected
- When it was last used
To disconnect an assistant, click Disconnect next to it. The assistant loses access immediately.
Organization-wide settings
Org admins with both the Manage Integrations and Manage Chapter Structure permissions can control AI assistant access for the entire organization. This setting is found on the organization page under Chapter Structure, in the AI Assistant Access (MCP) section.
There are three states:

| Enabled | Team members with the Connect AI Assistants permission can connect assistants, including approved write access |
| Read only | Assistants can look things up but can never make changes, regardless of what individual team members approve |
| Disabled | No assistant connections are allowed; any existing connections are revoked immediately |
Note: Setting access to Disabled disconnects every AI assistant in the organization immediately.
Role permissions
Which team members can connect AI assistants is controlled by role permissions under Settings → Roles:

| Connect AI Assistants (MCP) | Allows a team member to connect an AI assistant to Solidarity Tech. Without this, the assistant connection request will be refused. |
| AI Assistant Write Access | Allows a team member's connected assistant to make changes (create notes, edit tags and custom properties, save lists, schedule tasks). Without this, assistants are read-only regardless of what the team member approves. |
Both permissions must be present on the team member's role, and the organization-wide setting must allow connections, for write access to work.
Frequently asked questions
Can my assistant access people outside my scope?
No. The assistant uses your Solidarity Tech login and sees exactly the people, events, and campaigns your role permits. It cannot access anything you cannot access in the dashboard.
Where do I see what my assistant did?
Any changes an assistant makes (notes, tags, property edits, tasks) appear in the normal activity timeline on each person's profile, attributed to you.
Can I disconnect an assistant at any time?
Yes. Go to Settings → AI Assistants and click Disconnect next to the connection. Access is revoked immediately.
What happens if my organization disables AI assistant access?
Your connection is revoked immediately. You can reconnect if the organization re-enables access.
