Dues Membership

Dues membership tracking lets you manage who's paid up, who's lapsed, and who needs a reminder. Members pay dues on a 'Membership Dues' page, on a recurring schedule or upfront for several months where the page allows it. You can track their status across your entire database.

Dues Fields on People

Each person in your database has two dues-related fields:

FieldDescription
Paid Dues SinceThe date when this person first became a dues-paying member
Paid Dues Expires AtWhen their current dues period ends. After this date, they're considered lapsed.

Payments on a 'Membership Dues' page update both fields. A payment on a regular 'Donations' page changes neither field.

Filtering by Dues Status

The filter builder includes the 'Is an active dues-payer?' filter in the 'Finances' group:

Filter ValueWho It Matches
YesMembers whose Paid Dues Expires At date is in the future
NoMembers who have never paid dues OR whose dues have expired
Lapsed dues payerMembers whose Paid Dues Expires At date is in the past

You can also filter directly on the Paid Dues Expires At date field.

Dues Payment Options

Members pay dues on a 'Membership Dues' page. Dues can be recurring (monthly, quarterly, or annual, until cancelled, never weekly), paid upfront for a longer period, or paid once for a set dues period.

Managing Dues Manually

Team members with the 'Update Advanced Person Details' permission can edit both dates in the profile's 'Dues Membership' section or use 'Record a payment'. For other team members, the dates are read only.

To edit a date, open the person's profile in People, click the dues field value ("Empty" or the current date), enter the new date, and save. Use this for historical dues data, dues paid outside the system, or corrections.

Exporting Dues Data

When you export your member data, the 'Common fields' export has Paid Dues Since but not Paid Dues Expires At. To export Paid Dues Expires At, show that column in the People list. Then export with 'Selected columns'.
